How long have you been in business?
Metroport Meals On Wheels (MMOW) began service to area seniors with home delivered meals on April 1, 1980 and added senior center luncheons in 1981.
What is your primary product or service?
MMOW is a nonprofit, grassroots volunteer advocate for the elderly and those in need through home-delivered meals, senior center luncheons, and other support services. MMOW is Neighbors Helping Neighbors to alleviate hunger, isolation, and loneliness in our communities, and to foster the independence, worth, and dignity of each individual we serve.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Unlike the majority of Meals On Wheels programs, MMOW chooses NOT to accept federal or state funding. MMOW has tailored its program to meet the needs of the participants we serve. MMOW believes that the participants benefit most with the local approach, with the partnership of local food partners and volunteers.
MMOW is committed to providing meals and services built on community support instead of state and federal programs. This commitment has enabled MMOW to build a people-centered program that is responsive to the needs of our neighbors regardless of age or financial circumstances. We nurture personal relationships with our participants, and value them as individuals and friends.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
MMOW's business office is in Roanoke. Home-delivered meals are provided to elderly, chronically ill, or disabled residents of Argyle, Aurora, Bartonville, Bedford, Boyd, Colleyville, Euless, Grapevine, Haslet, Hurst, Justin, Keller, Newark, Northlake, North Richland Hills, Rhome, Roanoke, Southlake, Trophy Club, and Westlake. MMOW hosts luncheons in Colleyville, Denton Creek Senior Living Community, Evergreen/Keller, Flower Mound, Haslet, Highland Village, Justin, Keller, Richland Hills, Roanoke, and Southlake.
MMOW operates Sadie's Upscale Consignment and Resale in Roanoke. All proceeds from Sadie's provide meals to seniors regardless of their ability to pay.

Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
MMOW is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in the State of Texas. It is governed by a Board of Trustees chaired by Randy McCauley. Executive Director Mary King has been responsible for daily operations since 2000.

MMOW: 9 am -- 5 pm, Monday-Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday
Sadies: 10 am -- 6 pm Monday-Friday, 10 am -- 5 pm Saturday, closed Sunday
